Meet those who help others

Each member of our team has been impacted by adoption in one or more ways. We’ve pulled our experiences and talents together to create a place for others experiencing a similar journey.

The Magnolia Resource is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating joyful, successful, and vibrant lives for those impacted by foster care, kinship care, or adoption.

Adoption is a life journey I’ve been blessed to take. The deep love I have for my child was evident the first time I held him. It promoted a sense of appreciation for his birth mother’s decisions and the loss she may feel while he and I benefited. The joy of bonding with snuggles as a baby, just watching him play as a little boy and being the person he counts on for guidance as he’s grown into a man is hard to describe. With adoption and parenting the unknowns are eminent. It’s unequivocally the biggest challenge and best thing that ever happened to me.

Adoption has brought a beautiful granddaughter into my life who has brought me immeasurable happiness. I find joy in working with kids and have done so as a Young Rembrandt art instructor, Sunday school teacher, Girl Scout leader, cheer coach, school volunteer and Red Cross swim instructor. I enjoy spending time with family, going to the beach, painting, photography and writing. My hope is to help all children find the deep internal warmth that a loving family provides. I want them to feel the comfort, safety and happiness of their own family.
